How To Make Easy Homemade Doughnuts

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Heat oil in a deep saucepan or pot to a temperature of 350°F (175°C).

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes using a doughnut cutter or round cookie cutter.

Carefully place the doughnuts into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Once cooked, remove the doughnuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
